If there’s something that I’ve really learned from this experience, it’s that you can achieve more than you think you can. It’s a hard world for female cinematographers and I’ve been intimidated by being one of the few girls on sets, but to the other females out there, you can do it. One day, he sat me down and said, “You have to try twice as hard as a guy because since you’re a girl, they will automatically assume you can’t do things.” This means you REALLY have to get out of your comfort zone compared to a guy. This leads me to another piece of wisdom that Shane has told me. If we are only telling males’ stories, imagine how many stories we are missing out on. Half of the world is composed of females. When times are rough, sometimes I just look at this to remind myself that progress is possible, and that if you set a goal, you will reach it if you put in the work. If you don’t take a risk, you’ll never have the prospect of opportunity.Īn Instagram post from before I learned I got the mentorship My point of sharing this story is that sometimes you’ve got to just go for it. If you really want to be somebody happy, keep learning. I’s the one thing that really makes you as a person. He would tell me in Vietnamese, “People can take everything away from you, your possessions, your friends, your family, but they can never take away your knowledge.” What I got from this piece of advice is that knowledge can never be taken away. One of the things that got me through it was remembering something my grandpa told me growing up. I didn’t know anyone, and I was in this HUGE city. I was super excited, until I turned the ignition off in LA and realized there was no familiar Frontier restaurant around the corner. I just applied and was elated when I got it, but this meant a big change. Later that year, I graduated and saw that Hurlbut Visuals was offering up a Female Cinematographer Mentorship! I didn’t think twice. After the workshop, I sent follow-up emails to the Hurlbut Visuals team to stay in touch and kept my eye on the Hurlblog for any opportunities. I met Shane, and my mind was blown by all that I learned. The day before the event, my friend (who was the other scholarship student chosen for the workshop) and I hopped in a car and drove straight to Denver from New Mexico.ĭriving to Denver to Shane’s Illumination Experience A professor of mine told me to apply to the scholarship program that would allow for two students to attend the Illumination Experience for free. Getting the Mentorship:ĭuring my last year as an undergraduate film student at the University of New Mexico, I heard about Shane’s Illumination Experience Tour Workshop in Denver. Then I was about to realize that with opportunities comes the challenging aspect of expanding my comfort zone. Spending my whole life in Albuquerque, I was used to familiarity, and everything I needed was comfortably close. I grew up in a little house with English as my second language. I’m from a small city called Albuquerque, New Mexico, where there’s a total of two highways. This pretty much describes my Female Cinematographer Mentorship. I’ve always been afraid of heights but somehow I’m up there and finally realize that I’m getting better at stepping out of my comfort zone. Somehow, I’m working in Los Angeles for Shane Hurlbut, ASC, climbing up and down a 15 foot ladder, taking down Lekos rigged on the ceiling. Plus, as someone with incredibly sensitive skin (and an annoying amount of allergies), I’ve been forced to treat my epidermis like the temperamental little baby she is, and never had the luxury of indulging in overly fragranced or gimmicky products. Now, it’s a seamless, pleasant experience to apply and wear it. But before, wearing sunscreen every day was a chore, an extra step in an already arduous skincare routine that was often “forgotten” if I was short on time. We all know the both health-related and vain reasons that you should wear sunscreen every day: SPF prevents wrinkles, dark spots, and acne marks, and helps minimize the ones you already have. Unlike the chalky mineral formulas that made me look like a ghost, it’s totally translucent and absorbs quickly, leaving behind a velvet sheen that minimizes pores and resembles the finish of every hot girl’s favorite foundation: Armani Luminous Silk.I found that I could comfortably wear it all day when I was out running errands, or as the best base for summer schvitz-proof makeup.Īlthough I’ve been wearing sunscreen regularly on my face, décolletage, and hands for about 15 years, the moment I found Supergoop, pretty much everything changed-most importantly, my mindset. But when I first tried the Unseen Sunscreen, I found that it feels exactly like a mattifying jelly primer-a texture totally unlike other sunscreens I’ve tried before. Other products burned my eyes (making me look stoned) or left an extreme white-cast (making me look like the Victorian child haunting your attic). Check out our Chick Picks Shop to see more of our recommended products. Before trying Supergoop, like everyone else, my SPF game was inconsistent, and I conveniently “forgot” to apply sunscreen in my daily skincare routine. Layer sunscreen with UPF clothing, shade, sunglasses, hats, and other forms of protection to stay safe and protected.” But don’t forget that sunscreen alone should never be relied upon as your sole sun protection mechanism. Trampetti adds, “Most of the diligent scientific community agrees that the best sunscreen you can apply or apply to your children is the one you have access to. However, because my family has genetically very sensitive skin, I might opt for a more mineral, child-specific version to avoid irritation or potential sensitivity.” Trampetti has “no issue applying a high SPF chemical sunscreen lotion to my child. “And with new science (and also a lot of bad science) swirling around us in headlines, it may seem overwhelming or anxiety-inducing to try and pick the right one, especially for your children!” “Sunscreen safety has been such a hot topic in the last decade,” says licensed esthetician and skin expert Emily Trampetti. Secondly, Windows 10 doesn’t particularly like being moved, and Windows apps won’t necessarily run. In other words, you can only transfer an old PC if you bought a retail version of Windows. Foremost, is that Windows’ licensing prevents you from moving an OEM version of an OS to a new computer, even to a virtual machine. You can transfer your old Windows 10 PC directly to Parallels, but you may need to change settings to get all your apps workingīut there are caveats. You can even choose to copy your user files from Windows to your Mac. The first option sounds attractive and is easy to do: you install an app on your PC, then let it synchronise your Windows 10 installation to Parallels over your home network. Having a card that "counters" Aquaman does not mean it is always a good choice. Please note that battles are highly situational: this section only mentions cards that have mechanics that, for any reason, are particularly effective with/against, or particularly ineffective against Aquaman. Tantu Totem is a powerful gear for both of his specials, providing one SP1 per tag-in, or magnify his powerful multi-hit SP2 with crit chance and power refund on KO, allowing him to clear an entire team with a barrage of SP2. Heart of Darkness increases his power generation, boosts his SP2, and offers its own DOT. The Quake Engine is able to magnify the effect of his DOT and passive. DOT gears such as The Ibistick is great on him, especially his SP1 because of its bleed. However, it does work against her passive, meaning Aquaman can double the effect which her passive already doubled.Īquaman is a powerful DOT counter, but he is also excellent at using them. This cannot be done anymore as the reversal happens at the very beginning of the special attack's usage.Ĭatwoman/Batman Returns's passive will not increase the reversed DOT. Previously, if the last hit of Aquaman's special attacks KO's an opponent, the next opponent will receive the reversed DOT instead. If DOT triggers Invulnerability on Aquaman, the DOT is still on him even if it is not dealing damage he can still remove it and put it on his opponent. On the other hand, when Lobo/Bounty Hunter's burn is reversed, Aquaman's opponent will not be snared. If Catwoman/Arkham Knight's DoTs are reversed, it will also continue to damage Aquaman's opponent even if they are tagged out. When Injustice 2 Aquaman reverses and doubles a DOT effect, it will sometimes inherit the original DoT's unique effects. The Ibistick's burn, Darkseid/Apokolips's bleed) will continue to deal damage according to Aquaman's max health when reversed.Įffects that are always present when tagged in ( LexCorp Set's 3-piece effect, Solomon Grundy/Earth 2's passive) are unaffected by Atlantean Tactics. It increases his power generation, puts a DOT on the opponent that scales to their health and that the bleed of his SP1 multiplies, and increases the power of both of his specials, this boost being well-paired with his SP2.ĭamage over time dealing a % of the target's maximum health (e.g. When inflicting or reversing DOT is not what you care to do, Aquaman's SP2 invests his power on the front end.īesides countering the Ibistick, Aquaman can also effectively use it. An SP1 build lets him fire off specials more, with bleed damage and 20% increased incoming damage debuff coming at the cost of half the power of the special whenever you do want to take advantage of his passive, the SP1 would be the special of choice. His tremendously high stats and/or his own DOT with the bleed on his SP1 may thus be what he should primarily be geared/partnered in mind with. Aquaman will effectively return it with the doubling effect of his passive and the multiplier effect of his bleed if he uses his SP1. Not many teams encountered are built around DOT, so Aquaman's passive might prove situational. This is done at the beginning of his special. When Aquaman uses a special, he removes all damage over time effects on himself and applies it to his opponent with the damage doubled. Aquaman has a unique light combo, it consists of 4 hits before the combo ender, opposed to the usual 3 hits. This marble, as used by the Romans to build the arches of Porta Ticinese “and” Porta Nuova “, is of excellent quality, color ranges from candid white, pink or blue, depending on the light receiving, also has a high resistance to weathering and a very compact structure giving the building of a great plasticity. Thus the Duke legalized the donation he had made. In founding the Duomo Factory him the privilege of “using free and in perpetuity,” said marble and also serrizo. The Duke Gian Galeazzo decided to donate the marble Candoglia cellar, located in the province of Novara, in the commune of Mergozzo, at that time these villages belonged to the Duchy of Milan. This factory is still operating today, and will continue in the future, ensuring the perpetual maintenance of the Duomo. The Duke Galeazzo created an institution called “Venerable Duomo Factory” that was responsible for all operational activities necessary for the construction and through which this could continue in the following centuries: marble and Serizzo extraction, transportation, construction, decoration, maintenance, or even projects and designs. Most of the features we originally dreamed up at the time of the Kickstarter are implemented. The campaign at last has a beginning, a middle, and an end, and the world of Hearth is now full of allies, enemies, classes, systems, and encounters we consider worthwhile to experience. With the launch of the new builder and multiplayer, we’ve tackled two of the three largest critical engine-related tasks (the stuff that only our team can really do). The third task is improving performance, which we are addressing now, and will continue to improve after release. Initial impressions from the character creator. * these hands claws were made for /facepalm. * DA lands must be in state of perpetual famine. Or widespread drug abuse - anything but the maxed out setting on the cheek slider gives deep insight into the underlying skull structure. * Cheek Width in its current state is a :psyduck. Srsly, the faces just don't work like that :ye_gods: unless kept close to minimum it creates cheeks significantly wider than the cheek bones. * same shitty eye colour options Mass Effect had. let's just say it's unlikely to be to everyone's tastes, and there's little connection between labels and actual voice work :why_so_serious: This is not the area where you let a programmer pick the colours, for some reason they tend to think having saturation maxed out is a good idea. It seems prone to stretch the width of mouth a lot and very often, way more than people actually do it when they speak. It's jarring, unless your secret desire is to play a result of romantic union between Teri Hatcher and a frog. Given this is tech which also affects appearance of the NPCs, think there's few things here that's going to have negative impact on the game overall. Or at least make it unnecessarily harder for the devs to create something that make good impression. Despite the number of available sliders, there's pretty much just one combination with very slight variations that doesn't make your character look like it's freshly arrived from Alpha Centauri. Make-up shades, like blush, eye shadow (liberally applied using a spatula it seems) and lipstick cover the entire colour wheel (green blush, really?) rather than just the reds/browns/greys that make sense.
